Photo report on Iranian musical ‘Mary Poppins’

Directed by Ahmad Soleymani, ‘Mary Poppins’ has gone on stage at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall.

Iranian actress Behnoush Tabatabaee plays the role of Mary Poppins in the musical.

The theater presentation is accompanied by an Orchestra performance under the baton of Manouchehr Sahbaee. 

‘Mary Poppins’ is Soleymani’s third musical play on stage after ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Oliver Twist’.

The musical tells the story of Jane and Michael, the children of the wealthy and uptight Banks family. When they are faced with the prospect of a new nanny, they are pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the magical Mary Poppins.

Embarking on a series of fantastical adventures with Mary and her Cockney performer friend, Bert, the siblings try to pass on some of their nanny's sunny attitude to their preoccupied parents.
